In August 2018, the two-year TechnoServe Farm College program began in the Sembabule District in the central region of Uganda (TNS cohort 1). Throughout the course of this program, Farm College farmers will be trained on 12 topics to sustainably improve their coffee yields and support their households.
This report analyzes data from a baseline survey of 600 households conducted in September and October of 2018 to measure the rate of adoption of agronomy best practices at the start of the program and collect information on household characteristics. The survey was conducted both at the farm and the household level.
This report has been created with a strong emphasis on learning about the profiles of coffee farmers in the Sembabule District of Uganda. These insights will help inform the training content and the ongoing implementation of the Farm College.
